Bishop Visitor's Center

Locals and visitors have flocked to Keough’s Hot Springs for one hundred years to enjoy the relaxing, healing waters. In August 1919, Phillip Keough, an Eastern Sierra pioneer, leader in civic affairs, and owner of the City Market in Bishop, purchased the property and turned the natural hot springs into a first-class health resort.

Keough’s enjoyed a glamorous heyday in the 1920s and 30s when celebrities came to the bath house nestled at the foot of the rocky brown hills and towering Sierra peaks to soak, dine, dance, and even fish on the premises. Keough’s 100-foot-long pool is kept between 86 and 92 degrees (depending on time of year), while an adjacent smaller pool is held at a steamy 104 degrees year-round. Water blasts endlessly from elevated shower heads into the pool’s deep end as a cooling system for the spring water. It’s the perfect family activity and lap swimming during specific hours.

Sun bathe on the lounge chairs, grab a bit from the snack bar, or take a short walk up the nearby Rock Garden Trail to delve deeper into local geology. Along the path, various large rocks-including locally extracted lava and obsidian-are labeled with descriptions.

You can even stay at Keough’s Hot Springs. They have tent sites, tent cabins and modular retreats. Enjoy an epic Eastern Sierra getaway!

What a happy life!

Great fishing in that area

So beautiful

My kids were always around it when we were fishing, hunting, hiking and camping.

My kids went fishing since the day they were born.

We used to go to Green Creek. Just off the 395 South West of Bishop. We would drive our motor home and park it next to the creek. So much fun. So much trout. Oh, and beavers. So many fun memories. It's kinda a long drive on a wash board road. But worth every bump. Good hiking too.

Where is this. I would love to take my grandchildren. They have never been to a place like that.

I love bishop.. It’s beautiful and relaxing

Age two! Our daughter started cleaning her own fish at about age 9 with a filet knife. Our son would watch and they would inspect all the organs in the trout and identify them! She now teaches AP Science!!

My boys were 3 and 5 when we went fishing.

2 months! To Bishop!

What river is that it's beautiful

Be there in Oct 🍁🍂🍁

Can we camp here with rv?

Is that Hawbeggers?
