Where wishes come true and beautiful memories are made.

Location. Location. Location. It’s real and it’s important.

Bishop is in one of the most beautiful parts of our country. Our region also has an incredibly diverse range of settings and seasonal options. If you are planning a special event take a look at Bishop. We have incredible venues where you can create your dream event.

Elope to Independence

Did you know that elopements are big in our part of the world? Here’s what you do. Go to the courthouse in Independence, CA (just 40 miles south of Bishop) for a marriage license. It’s a marvelous, historic building where the staff will help you quickly and courteously. An added benefit is you’ll get the word “Independence” on your certificate. It could prove to be a marriage saver. Then head into the foothills or canyons of the majestic Sierra Nevada for a romantic ceremony and extra special wedding photos.

We are big on outdoors. We have the biggest, most beautiful backyard where secluded locations are easily accessible to set up off-the-grid type events or fully hooked up super parties. There are numerous indoor settings too. Some are located in town, others in bucolic countryside settings, and still more in quaint mountain retreat settings.

It’s also important to have the services and support of great people to make your dream event come true. We are proud of our locally-owned businesses and resident consultants who are skilled and experienced at what they do. They know what’s trending and how to create something unique. As owner-operators they are as invested as you are in making your event as wonderful and memorable as possible.

There are so many great places for wonderful events that we’ve created a special page all about hosting your event in Bishop. We have indoor venues and outdoor settings and places where you can combine the outdoors with the indoors and make your day super special.

Another important aspect of hosting an event in the Eastern Sierra is timing. Timing is everything when planning and executing an event. The Eastern Sierra has the full spectrum of all four seasons. We know our region and its seasons well. Talk to us as your vision starts to take shape and get to know which season is best for which location.

Just reminding you to PLEASE PUT YOUR FISHING PLANS ON HOLD! We are asking all guests to Bishop and the Eastern Sierra NOT to visit NOW. As we humans are all grappling with the coronavirus, please know the fish that have been planted will just be BIGGER and more FUN when the Eastern Sierra opens its doors back up to our guests. Until then, please stay healthy at home, and feel free to share fish stories with us (even if they aren't true). With love from Bishop. We look forward to seeing you again once it’s safe to travel. ... See MoreSee Less

From our friends at Mule Days...Dear Mule Days friends,

It is with heavy hearts that the Board of Directors announces that we have made the decision to postpone the Mule Days Celebration until May of 2021. As we had stated at the outset, we continually monitored the situation with officials from a variety of sources. Finally, in consultation with our local public health officials it simply was no longer reasonable to move forward.

We will miss our friends, mule fans, visitors, volunteers, contestants, vendors, advertisers and sponsors who come from nearly every state in America and several countries. We value and appreciate all who have worked so hard to bring together 50 Years of the “Greatest Mule Show on Earth”. But it is out of an abundance of caution for the health and wellbeing of our Eastern Sierra communities and for those who visit us that we make this decision.

In the coming days we will be working to connect with everyone regarding tickets, deposits, entries and reservations. As we continue to practice mandatory safety protocols our response time may be slow so we ask for your patience. We expect to communicate regularly through our social media, email and website in order to keep you updated as we work through this difficult time.
