Friends of the Inyo- Death Valley Dunes StewardshipMake a desert escape and help take care of America's favorite National Park! At the invitation of the park service,
we've changed the Surprise Canyon trip scheduled for the first weekend in March to a project in the heart of the park.
We'll spend part of Friday and all day Saturday restoring a closed road just north of Death Valley Dunes. Then Sunday, we'll explore one of the nearby canyons.
If we're lucky, the winter rains will make for some early wildflower blooms! When: Friday, March 5 - Sunday March 7
Where: Basecamp at Stovepipe Wells campground. What: Camping and road restoration (difficult, dusty work, but worth the effort).
Friends of the Inyo provides the campsite and meals (Friday night through Sunday morning) for participants who sign up in advance. Single-day volunteers are also welcome. Sorry, no dogs allowed.
