Mule Days Celebration

Every Memorial Day weekend since 1969, the town of Bishop comes alive with the annual presentation of Mule Days. The outfitters and packers of the region wanted an event to start off the packing season and the businessmen wanted to draw vacationers to the Owens Valley. What began as an informal gathering and a test of skills, has grown into a fun filled, world class event.

Playhouse 395 Children's Theatre Workshops Registration

Children ages 7-13 are invited to sign up for Playhouse 395's Children's Theater Workshops in June and July. Children will learn stagecraft and stage presence, on stage and behind the scenes while producing Disney's Little Mermaid, Jr. Each session runs for two weeks, Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Children may sign up for one or both sessions. Session 1 will be held June 17-28; Session 2 July 29-Aug. 9. Both sessions culminate in public performances on the final Friday with shows at 5:30 and 7:00 PM. Registration materials for the Children's Theater Workshops are available on-line at www.playhouse395.com with discounted registration for second and additional children and for applications received on or before May 24, 2013. When the entertainment starts, the evening sky is displaying early stars and the setting sun’s shadows are long on the canyon floor as the discreetly hidden lights create unique and mysterious shadows on the canyon walls. California High School Rodeo State Finals!

This event takes place at the TriCounty Fairgrounds, in Bishop, CA. Athletes from high schools all over Califonia compete for the State Rodeo Championship on a scale comparable with college and professional rodeo. Approximately 300 contestants will compete this week in the State Finals. Tickets to single events are $6. You can purchase a button for entry to all events for $20. LAWS Benefit Concert- The Black Irish Band

The Black Irish Band will be performing at the 6th Annual Benefit Concert on June 29, 2013 along with a Taste of the Irish Dinner. Michelle Denault Catering will be serving a traditional Irish Dinner. She will be serving traditional corned beef and cabbage or roasted chicken.
