The Fall Colors in the Bishop area are the last week of September and first week October.
Autumn is our favorite season! Trees are ablaze in hues of orange, yellow, gold and crimson. Enjoy warm, sunny days and mild evenings. There's a hint of winter in the air, but summer won't quite let go.
The Bishop area offers a remarkable contrast of fall color. From majestic cottonwood trees in the Owens Valley, to quaking aspens draping the high country, you'll be delighted by the range of color at various elevations. Hues of gold mixed with some red begin to show in the higher elevations of Bishop Creek Canyon (South Lake, Lake Sabrina) in early September and typically reach their peak during the first week of October.
Along the Owens Valley floor, the colors appear later, generally from lateSeptember through late October (weather permitting). Color change is very dependent on temperature and forecasting is difficult. We encourage you to revisit this page often during the season to get the most current area fall color information.
